Lilith's Stones
At one point there were a hundred stones in existence, but now there are only 4. The stones, which resemble precious gemstones, are Lilith's gift to the vampires. Each stone is a powerful creation with a different magical property.
-Sapphire allows the holder to heal themselves and others with a simple incantation. This can only be done by using someone's personal energy to flow though the stone to heal a wound or by drawing on the stone's limited reserves. However, depending on the wound that is being healed, the user becomes extremely fatigued and requires weeks and sometimes months before their energy is back to normal
-Diamond gives super strength to the holder. They may not be stronger then all the other races, but they're strength is superior to the humans and gives them an edge over a normal vampire. Strength comes at a price, which is the holder is always hungry for human food and although it doubles their strength, it cuts their speed in half.
-Moonstone allows their vampire holder to venture out in the sunlight for a limited amount of time. This can only be done by drawing from the stone's magical reserves, and it needs to be recharged every month on the night of the full moon. The Moonstone is one of the most dangerous to the holder, since the only way the holder can tell if the power is running low is when they start to get a sunburn. No one really knows how long the Moonstone can last since the amount of time is different each time it's recharged, and it depends on how intense the sun is. Sunburns take 75% longer to heal then it would for a normal human and are especially painful.
-Opal triples the speed of the holder, but strength and stamina are sacrificed and they must feed frequently. Although they are faster they can only run in short bursts and are extremely fatigued after. Using the Opal to travel long distances at high speeds can be fatal.
Recharging: The stones must be recharged every night of the full moon, and each stone has different requirements. Diamond must be placed inside the stomach of a strong bull and left overnight.Sapphire must be smeared with the blood of a healthy innocent and be filled with peaceful thoughts by a psychological vampire. Moonstone needs to be recharged by being placed in a bowl filled with fresh spring water sprinkled by a few drops of vampiric blood, and left on a gravestone to soak up the moon's light. Opal needs to be bathed in the blood of a perfect lamb mixed with a few drops of human blood.
WARNING! For skilled professionals only:Lilith's Stones hold immense power and like all things power can corrupt. Only skilled vampires should be in possession of these objects and even then they need to be handled with care. Vampires can easily be corrupted by the power the Stones hold. If a vampire is in possession and linked to more then one stone, their thirst for blood is never satisfied and they turn into horrible looking creatures that are nothing but skin and bone. Although Lilith designed the stones for the vampires they may be held by all the races but the consequences are disastrous. For example, if a human were to own the Diamond they would experience the full strength of the Stone, but they will crave blood even if they're not a vampire. After a few weeks of using the stone they become corrupt with power and gain an unnatural craving for blood, and will start to resemble walking corpses. Unless the Stone is taken early, the effects of the corruption are irreversible and the corrupted must be executed.
Finding the stones: The Stones are Lilith's gift, and only vampires may find them. On the 100th eve of the day they were turned into what they are, the vampire in question will travel to a graveyard where they will find a gravestone with their name inscribed on it. They must dig up the coffin and pry it open. The coffin will be empty except for the single, inactive stone resting at the bottom. The stone may only be activated on the night of an eclipse when all the planets are aligned. From then on the stones will be connected to the vampire who found them. Another way to find the stone is to murder the vampire who holds it and smear it with the dead vampire's blood and a bit of their own, but this method does not guarantee that the vampire will link with the stone. If done the wrong way, the stone will shatter and kill the vampire that is attempting to make a connection with it.
